Breaking News: Megan Fox Single

0Ryan Clayton25th Feb 2009Misc

megan-fox2Us magazine is reporting that Megan Fox and Brian Austin Green have split up.  The pair were engaged to be married but since calling it quits, they have decided to remain friends.

And just because I’m hoping this might work…I’m calling dibbs!

Gonna party like an Indie rock star…

Tonight I get to see Joshua Radin and Meiko!  Who are Joshua Radin and Meiko you ask?  Well you need to check out the music page to hear a sample of their music.  Joshua is one of my favorite artists that I discovered a few years ago.  Meiko….well I saw Meiko for the first time at The Hotel Cafe Tour and I’ve had a crush on her every since.  Don’t get me wrong…she’s not just cute.  Her music is great…she’s in my Top 100 Most Played list on my iPod.

They are both playing in town tonight so I’ve taken Thursday off and I’m all ready.  I’m going with some friends so I premade my delicious veggie lasagna for everyone to eat before the show.

Since it is also a friends birthday tonight…I figured we needed some drinks.  I skittles-vodkadecided to try a ‘recipe’ I saw recently online…Skittles Infused Vodka.  They turned out great…well they look good.  I’m waiting until tonight to try them along with everyone else.  But I can’t imagine they’d taste bad.  It does seem a little wrong…candy flavored booze.  For stubborn kids that won’t drink their vodka straight.

Shoot the Rainbow!

Wanna be my friend?

bn_facebook-logoI’ve resisted for awhile…I just didn’t see the need…but I did it.  I joined Facebook.  The real driving force was an old friend of mine who contacted me to tell me that in the most recent South Pasadena High School reunion newsletter, I’m listed as MIA.

So I signed up.  It’s a lot like MySpace…just a slicker interface.  I did find it strange when I signed up I already had a friend request.  Someone I knew from Woodland Park had sent me a friend request months ago….and since I didn’t use Facebook…I ignored it.  But look at me…first sign in and I’m already making friends.

If you care to be my Facebook friend…my profile is here.

I saw dead people…

0Ryan Clayton24th Feb 2009Misc

bodieshumanthinkerI had a blind date on Saturday night.  Not in the sense that I didn’t know who I was going with…but instead I didn’t know where I was going.  The surprise?  Dead people!

Annika took me to go see the Bodies Human exhibit…real people who have been made plastic by a process called plastination.  I have to say, it’s pretty cool to be able to look inside the human body and see all the bits and pieces.

I do have a few comments about the exhibit.  It’s not big enough!  The site says it will take you 1-2 hours to see everything.  I’m calling bullshit on that.  30-45 minutes unless it’s busy or you are really taking your time.  I also think their website is a little misleading saying there are 100 bodies on exhibit.  There are about 15 full bodies…but they must be counting each ‘piece’ of a body.  So that heart sitting on display counts as a body.

Don’t get me wrong…it was totally worth going.  I missed a similiar exhibit of plastination a couple of years ago and I’m thrilled I got the chance to finally see it.  If you want to take a look at a few of the photos I snapped, check out the gallery.

My monitor is on fire!

2Ryan Clayton14th Feb 2009Misc

No, not really.

After I purchased my new monitor, I decided I needed to update the video card on the computer so I could take advantage of the pretty Areo features in Vista. Now I have all the transparent windows, animations and other whistles that I felt I was missing since I started using Vista.

Anyway, this afternoon I was burning a DVD today with Infrarecorder and noticed this funny little effect.

Burn baby! Burn!
