I love long weekends

0Ryan Clayton31st Aug 2007General

Only 30 minutes left in the work day and then I’m a free man.  I actually have no plans for the weekend, but yet I can’t wait for it to start.  I guess just because it means no having to think about work for 3 days.  Then I work 3 days and I’ve got a 4 day weekend….I’m heading up to Los Angeles to meet my new nephew as well as celebrate my father’s birthday.

29 minutes now….I was hoping this post would take up more time.

Weekend car accident

1Ryan Clayton26th Aug 2007Weird

Saturday morning I got up and didn’t have anything in the house to eat.  I didn’t want to go to the store, but my stomach refused to take no for an answer so I ran and picked something up.

As I’m driving home, I’m sitting at a stop light, perhaps the 3rd car back.  I look into my rear view mirror and think “The car coming up behind me is going a little to fast and if she doesn’t….”

WHAM!

She smacked right into the back of me hard enough to knock my baseball hat off my head.  It took just a moment to regroup and I motioned to her that we should pull off on a side street.

I get out of my car and she gets out of hers.  She immediately apologizes as we are walking toward the back of my car to take a look.

One tiny scratch on my bumper.

I even asked her if she had actually hit me.  I would have never have known aside from the fact I was in the car when she used my back bumper to stop.  We then walk around to the front of her car to see the damage.

The front bumper is pushed down and looks to be near coming off.  Her hood has been pushed back, which caused it to fold up in the middle.  Both her headlights are smashed and when she started the car you could hear the fan knocking something.

I felt so bad for her.  Not that I was the cause, I wasn’t even moving.  But she obviously took 99% of the damage.  Her little car with the low front end just pushed under my car and took all the impact that my bumper and trailer hitch stood firm against.

We traded information just in case something came up.  Turns out she lives a block over from me. But as far as I’m concerned, that was the most pleasent accident I’ve ever been in.

Happy Birthday!

NeelaIt’s my dogs birthday……Neela the Golden Retriever is 1 year old today.

I don’t normally wish my dog happy birthday, but I left the PC on at home and if she surfed my site….well I didn’t want her to think I forgot about her.

I’m amazed how fast a site can be setup.

I’ve always run a website with my ex-wife…for most of the marriage we would post about things, put up photos for our family to see, etc. I guess this is my break out attempt….I’ve gone all Justin Timberlake and gone solo and I’m bringing sexy back! When did sexy ever actually go ‘out’? I don’t ever remember someone walking past a hot girl and saying “Gross, look how sexy she is!”. So why did JT have to bring it back?

As you can see I rant.

So, that’s why I’m here, why I’ve purchased ryanize.com all of 10 minutes ago and I’m already here. You can setup a website in 10 minutes….it doesn’t hurt if you are also your own webhost. I guess what really surprised me is I purchased it and the domain already pointed to the account I setup. It used to take days for that to happen. When did someone fix that? Who fixed that. I mean really, his name. I want to say thanks. For a system that was totally wired together, it seemed silly to me that you had to wait days for a domain name to come to life. Thanks domain name resolver fix-it guy!
